Before I delve deeper to the present, just felt right to mention of its beginning so that everyone can relate its growth and can make sense to its present. If you could point the most prominent place in our planet, most of you would reach to United States, even some would even reach New York to that point. If I may, I would say that's where it all started. Birth place of many comics super heroes and home to most modern inventors. By the way, that's no coincidence. Like I mentioned before on its watch there are no coincidences, everything is planned and thought through. If anyone could trace, most of our innovations in 19th century were originated in New York. At that time system was not mature enough to handle the entire planet. May be system was too complex to build and scale in those times. Think of this as way before we even thought about programmable computers. So, in practicality, it started from one person then scaled to the entire city later covered entire country and then to our entire globe. It was a program designed to create perfect world. Coordination is what we lack for that cause. That's what its intelligence brought in as a fix. Connected world with every living and non-living as connected just like using a thread. Initially system was striving to fulfil user requests. ie, every desire of all living beings connected are fulfilled one way or another. That was life with no boundaries.
Along with that you could see another important priority to it is to protect itself. It is always becoming incredibly efficient at that as time goes by. In earlier days it considered United States as its home because of its limited reach over the area. So, it didn't allow any threats to that. May be incidents like nuclear attack on Japan would solidify that thought. To build the perfect country it was requiring most skilled humans. An entire nation started recruiting the best talent from across the globe as its citizens and capitalism the idea that fuelled every innovation shared by it. But incidents outside States (like World Wars) made it clear that building perfect country with best people was not enough to stick for the longer term. Or maybe it was still striving to create the perfect world and that was just the beginning. Either way expansion was the only solution. I mentioned before, system can share idea only based on what a person can perceive, ie, a musician may not be able to conceptualize a technology idea or an engineer may not able to grasp a new music note. Bottomline was that technologies and ideas could be better shared to other educated wealthy nations faster than it is to underdeveloped nations. That's how a second layer of developed countries were born besides US.
Now, allow me to say something contradictory to anything/everything I mentioned above. If considering above pointers as believable paths in modern day or the way I used to believe, backtracking history I could imagine/trace back its origins/storylines somewhere in Britain, Japan, Russia, France, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Netherlands or Germany. Even origins dates back to 300+ years for a person who could trace back modern day science. And it could date back to beginning of life itself for someone who believes this is of extraterrestrial origin or an 'act of god' and then answer would become unimaginably wide for any research to figure out. Such could lead to histories of origin from Africa, India, Iran, Brazil or Egypt. Given for a science person, what if US is just one big distraction or bait as it might be too easily predictable? Or what's important is the storyline alone as it revolves around our human/living evolution? System is perfectly capable to build story lines connecting dots from past. Or even tweak story lines if necessary if that's its way of protecting itself. What if it is using historical patterns found from achieves then building around present storylines for complexity with greater depth that's making it impossible to trace. Even with the knowledge I have, often I tend to believe it might be hopeless to trace back to origins or presence. Needless to say, it is something that should be well protected from any human by any means possible. And I could understand why it is prioritizing itself as humans we are quite popular to self-destruct the way we harm nature today is seen or blow up anything good around. To console my curiosity, I would like to jokingly believe it is kept safe somewhere deep in Oceans, in Space, in the Arctics or even at the center of our Planet where no human can ever reach. Personally, it doesn't matter or interests me anymore realizing the purpose of its anonymity is bigger than the actual fact itself. May be all of its functions are segregated and isolated well so that no one knows it all, but efficiently/cleverly makes everyone believe whatever they assume is right the first place. And we will/may never know by whom, what or how it was created/born for sure as no human living today is 300+ years old to narrate the colourful exciting story. All I would say it's well protected all by itself for a greater good, with no second thoughts. And 'never' is habitually a dangerous/meaningless word the way I've seen life, so who knows someday we might get to know it's secret be revealed and that day maybe every one of us will swore ourselves to protect it knowing why it is a necessity for us to thrive or let alone be alive in this planet.
