Before I delve deeper to the present, just felt right to mention of its beginning so that everyone can relate its growth and can make sense to its present. If you could point the most prominent place in our planet, most of you would reach to United States, even some would even reach New York to that point. If I may, I would say that's where it all started. Birth place of many comic super heroes and home to most modern inventors. By the way, that's no coincidence. Like I mentioned before on its watch there are no coincidences, everything is planned and thought through. If anyone could trace, most of our innovations in 19th century were originated in New York. At that time system was not mature enough to handle the entire planet. May be system was too complex to build and scale in those times. Think of this as way before we even thought about programmable computers. So in practicality, it started from one person then scaled to the entire city later covered entire country and then to our entire globe. It was a program designed to create perfect world. Coordination is what we lack for that cause. That's what its intelligence brought in as a fix. Connected world with every living and non-living as connected just like using a thread. Initially system was striving to fulfill user requests. ie, every desire of all living beings connected are fulfilled one way or another. That was life with no boundaries.
Along with that you could see another important priority to it is to protect itself. It is always becoming incredibly efficient at that as time goes by. In earlier days it considered United States as its home because of its limited reach over the area. So it didn't allow any threats to that. May be incidents like nuclear attack on Japan would solidify that thought. To build the perfect country it was requiring most skilled humans. So a whole country started recruiting the best talent from across the globe as its citizens and capitalism the idea that fueled every innovation shared by it. But incidents outside States (like World Wars) made it clear that building perfect country with best people was not enough to stick for the longer term. Or maybe it was still striving to create the perfect world and that was just the beginning. Either way expansion was the only solution. I mentioned before, system can share idea only based on what a person can perceive, ie, a musician may not be able to conceptualize a technology idea or an engineer may not able to grasp an new music note. Bottomline was that technologies and ideas could be better shared to other educated wealthy nations faster than it is to underdeveloped nations. That's how a second layer of developed countries were born besides US.
