At the very beginning US was built just with same purpose of that of Noah's Ark. It brought fresh perspectives and cultures from across the world to build a nation. This gave the system opportunity to watch closely how each cultures learn and grow with progressing technology. Also, how diversity can bring collaboration and co-exist peacefully. It knew how to leverage those older and limited circumstances well enough to foresee a united world. Just like the most studious kid learning across everything it has reach to. Third world countries or under developed nations which we say now were mostly left behind as they were struggling to meet two ends rather than thinking about technological progression. Scarcity of resources, wealth and education were the prime factors for this. Building blocks were missing and certainly most were still part/recovering from colonization effects from earlier stages. Moving wealth from top tiers to lower was tough due to inherent design and lack of technology reach. Still system managed to move people from underdeveloped countries to developed in form of emigrants or as foreign service workers. In turn they acted as the bridge between their differences. Also it brought passionate leaders helming every nation so to have a sense of unity within every culture.
Rest of the world started growing faster and the trend were mostly upward especially for capitalist economies. Slowly organizations started taking centre stage replacing famed governments. Simply because organizations has to expand their balance sheets every time while governments can sail with the wind. Also organizations can keep the competition more healthy rather than taking it physical unlike governments. This competition fostered accelerated innovation with the help of system.
